Treasured Reflections by Pamela Troxel Rollin' Nostalgia Car & Bike Show Pittsburg Kansas

Rollin' Nostalgia Car & Bike Show

In Memory Of
Rodney 1954 -2001

This old Ford use to belong to a very good friend of ours. Rodney we miss ya buddy! Oh what fun we had! Bill and I had to set inside. All Bill could do was smile. He was remembering all the good times like the Twin Bridges trip and the Tahlequah Oklahoma run. Me, I had to cry a little. I was thinking of how long he has been gone and how much we miss his smile, his hugs and, I can't forget the stories. He would of enjoyed the cars and the motor cycles. He is no longer here on earth with us, but he smiles and looks down on us ever day. His spirit is still in our hearts and yes, in that old van no matter who owns it.

July 4th Pittsburg Kansas

Rollin' Nostalgia Car & Bike Show

It turned out to be a beautiful day for the Rollin Nostalgia Car & Bike Show. It was held at Don Gutteridge Sports Complex Friday afternoon. They had 147 entries from the general area and cities as far as Kansas City and Coffeyville. From what I hear it was one of their best shows ever.

If you are from Pittsburg or any of the surrounding areas you can not go to an event in Pittsburg with out running in to old friends and family. Friends that you haven't seen sense the last summer event. Friends that have big hugs for you know matter how long it has been since you have seen them.

Great Show Rollin Nostalgia!

Here are a few of my favorite pic's

That is our long time friend and buddy Gary in the buggy. Love ya Gary!!

Treasured Reflections by Pamela Troxel

Non-Traditional Photography!

My kind of photography! No Studio. My studio is your favorite spot. Whether it be in your garden, your favorite place to
play in grandma and grandpa's yard or with your favorite pet. Our old friends that are always there for us. Photos that reflect your individual spirit and style.
I just had my first photo session this last weekend
with a wonderful family. This session was in honor of their family dog Sam. He was very patient with all of us. Thanks Selena and family. I hope you all enjoy the photos.

Sam

The young lady that you see in the upper right corner is my granddaughter, Miss Lauren. She is the light of our lives. The air that I breath! We are so lu
cky to have such a wonderful strong young lady in our life. The day that I took this photo she had problems with her razor scooter. The chain came off and she fixed it herself. She is a chip off the ole Great Grandma's block. There isn't anything that my mom won't tackle. Lauren had grease all over her hands and on her face and forehead. She decided that I could take pictures of her, which now days is getting harder and harder. I grabbed my camera and the next thing we knew we had a lot of photos to remember the day her scooter broke and most of all she had fixed it herself!

This is our "GREASE MONKEY DIVA" photo. Just one of my favorites. If you look close you can see all the grease on her hands!

As I start this journey of "Non-Traditional
Photography" I want to thank all my close friends and family for letting me be a part of their lives. I do know not everyone likes to have their photos taken, but remember that some day when we are gone how just a photo can touch someones heart and bring back those special memories; whether it be the day Lauren's scooter broke or our old buddy Sam that let us hold him when we were sad.

Thanks Lauren! Grandma will love you for ever and ever. " BFF" Grandma

I have just a few other photo passions to share with you. Reflections Of Liberty and Old Tractors. Yes, I said old tractors.

Reflections Of Liberty started a few years ago when we had a car
show on the down town square. We can see the square from our front porch so it is hard not to get involved in the action. Camera in hand I found myself wandering up to take a look. Who doesn't like looking at all those beautiful cars? As I was looking at the cars I found that I could see the reflections of the town and the people. I know people thought I was crazy. I would walk around the cars many times and look at all the different reflections. The next thing I knew I had taken over 200+ pictures. Now I have "Reflections Of Liberty #2 & #3. So here are a few of my favorites.

Now for the "TRACTORS" { No not the country singing group, although they are one of My favorites} A few weeks ago my wonderful husband wanted to go see a friend that does blacksmith and forging so Lauren and I tagged along for the ride to Lathrop MO. Not knowing just what we were going to do, again I grabbed my camera and we were on our way. I ended up with 100 photos +, a great time was had by all!

The Lathrop Antique Club holds a few events each year. The Antique Tractor and Car Show, and Flea Market with several great things to see and do. I have checked to see when the next event would be and it looks like it would be July 17-20 Blue Grass Festival

Lathrop Ant
ique Show Grounds, 2488 S.E. Hwy. 33 Lathrop MO 64465 located just south of Lathrop's city limits. For more info contact 816-471-6779 or 816-804-1862 e-mail www.byronjones.bizuy Looks like it could be a good time!

You never know what you will find in a sm
all town. It might not have been such a small town 80 + years ago.

Yes that is Lauren and her grandpa shelling corn.
Just remember to take your camera along. You never know where you might get photos that bring back those childhood memories.

Love to all,
